VELES is expanding its sales geography thanks to its international partners

So, few days ago, VELES dealer Alpers Technik GmbH in Latvia put into operation one of the most popular European soil tillage implements from the VELES product line, the heavy spring harrow BT-9G.

The machine did not get to Latvia by chance. The spring harrow was bought by a long-standing customer of the German dealer, Mr. Holger Marsh, to his agricultural holding. Mr Marsh's farm is large by European standards - 4.5 thousand hectares, spread over the fields of Germany and Latvia.

The farming company already had 9-metre spring harrows in its fleet, but they were mounted models from other manufacturers. But when they realised they were not as efficient as they would have liked, the management of the holding decided to go with trailed equipment.

WHY ARE THE TRAILED IMPLEMENTS BETTER THAN MOUNTED ONES? According to Mr. Marsh:

  • Better ground contour following due to the narrow sections of 1,7 m width. The mounted versions have an average section width of 2.5 to 4.5 m and therefore make the smallest unevenness in the field are visible.
  • Saving on machinery. A trailed spring harrow with 9 m working width needed a 150 HP tractor. The trailed spring harrow on Mr. Marsch's farm needed a 300 hp tractor.

WHY DID HOLGER MARSH CHOOSE THE VELES HARROW?

  1. High-quality
  2. Affordable price
  3. Compared with European manufacturers, it's easier to maintain.
  4. Has a number of technological advantages. For example, a VELES tine with 14 mm diameter reaches the necessary vibration frequency at 12 km/h, in contrast to 16 mm diameter tines which need more speed.

As a result, with the VELES spring harrow the farmer can:

  • Save on fuel
  • Work hilly fields at a slower speed

The harrow is now in the hangar waiting for its moment of glory in the Latvian fields. Mr. Marsh is putting it to work in 6 weeks in the field after rapeseed to start provocation of volunteer crop sprouts.
